Rarely do we see a true bluewater cruiser of this quality and pedigree come to market. The renowned Jack Savage designed Oceanic 42 has won plenty of accolades over the years for it's superb handling and safe ocean crossing abilities. "Fairway Eagle" would possibly be the youngest example in existence. Her hull was laid up by Parkes Craft in the 1980's but she wasn't fitted out and launched until 2009 with a craftsman built interior equal to or better than any modern production yacht. With long range cruising in mind the owners have thoughtfully equipped her to include everything a serious cruiser could need. The comprehensive Navman integrated electronics package is backed up by independent navigation software on laptop with TMQ C-Plot and AIS.
The ash timber trim is complimented by plenty of light and tasteful cushioning, all in excellent condition. The aft master cabin has a sprung double mattress with fitted linen and is accessed from both the cockpit and the saloon. There is also a twin cabin forward and a convertible dinette which makes up another double and a very comfortable 'day bed' in front of the TV. A further two people could be accommodated on the saloon settee and a 'watch-keepers' berth in the aft passage-way. The galley has ample fridge/freezer space, a double sink and a large stainless stove/oven. There is plenty of storage throughout the boat including two large hanging cupboards.
Auxilliary engine is a 60 hp Perkins diesel with less than 400 hours total use and easy access for maintenance. Cruising size tankage consists of 800 lt of fresh water and 300 lt of fuel. The centre cockpit helm is well protected by a solid dodger, and the running rigging and winches are all close to the helm for easy short-handed sailing. The inventory includes an inflatable with outboard on davits, two solar panels, shore power, inverter, Fusion sound system and TV, Muir two way remote windlass with 80 m chain, boom bag with lazy jacks and a heavy duty Pro-Furl genoa furler.
The condition and presentation of this fine yacht is a credit to the owners. Over the years they have enjoyed some fun trips around Bass Strait and beyond but their circumstances have changed and they have reluctantly decided to put "Fairway Eagle" on the market. A secure, serviced marina berth is also available. Please contact us for a detailed inventory or to arrange an inspection.
