Historic Classic Wooden Boat.. "The Myra"

"The Myra" is a double-ended lakes fishing boat, built at Marley Point in 1918 by Bill Bott.
She is a beautiful historic double ended fishing boat, and a wonderful example of the fishing boats unique to the Gippsland Lakes.
(until very recently Myra was the last Licensed fishing boat on the lakes. )
The Lakes Fishing Boats were used for the modelling of Couta boats.
Easy to handle, and ideal for enjoying the Gippsland Lakes
Perfect for fishing, day trips and picnics, overnight camping, and cruising the Lakes and waterways.
"The Myra" has been restored thoroughly to retain her "originality" (still about 80% original) after being updated by Rob Young one of the Lakes districts' eminent master craftsman and shipwrights.
If you know Rob you will acknowledge the quality that has been re-built into "The Myra" from stem to stern over the past two years.
His workmanship is evident throughout the vessel and follows his exacting eye for detail.
This is evident in her compliance with local and classic wooden boating heritage and traditional construction techniques, fastidiously applied throughout the restoration.
